Doctor's Appt.

Yesterday we had our doctor's appt. He said that everything still looks boring and that is a good thing. Alex is in the 50th percentile on everything (we guess from the ultrasound last time) so the doctor said he is very normal. Lisa has been having quite a bit of shortness of breath and raising pulse with blood pressure, but he feels that it is totally normal. There was a very medical explanation for it all, but basically the body is compensating for extra blood and just sometimes works a little harder than it needs. He gave some suggestions of how to deal with the pulse and blood pressure and says to take it easy when she's out of breath. We both feel much better after hearing that. Alex's heartbeat still sounds great and is very regular, he was also kicking a lot during the time and we could hear it on the heart beat machine. Lisa is feeling him kicking and moving a lot. Brent even felt it once when he gave a good jab. At this point his main job is to gain weight and keep developing, especially his lungs. He will be gaining lots of weight starting now and getting much longer. So, we guess Lisa will be doing the same along with him. We go back again in another 4 weeks, but on a Wednesday. Lisa has to do a glucose test that day which means drinking some yucky stuff and getting blood drawn 1 hour later. We will also see the doctor that day, but won't have the results. The test is a normal one that they always do and isn't a response to a concern, so please don't worry. We also want to again thank everyone, Nick and Trish, Jim and Missy, Sarah and Jon, for all the wonderful baby items. We feel blessed and can only hope that we will one day be able to return the favor to you all for all you have done. We really are in need for nothing to bring Alex home, which is a great relief for us both. As always, keep thinking of us all 3, as we know you are all doing, and we keep you all in our thoughts as well.

  1. It's getting more and more exciting, as my first grandson is getting bigger and more active. Marching in the Quincy Dogwood Parade today for Right to Life made me more aware of how precious this little life is. The poster, showing a fetus a little bit farther along than Alex was awesome. The wording, "Here" and then under the picture was "Hiding". We got a t-shirt that said, "No matter how small, a person is a person", and had a picture of a fetus underneath. Keep up the good nutrition and get lots of rest, Lisa, so that Alex will grow big and strong for his arrival in August. We love all 3 of you, and can't wait to see you soon. Hugs and kisses.
